The premise is similar to last year's MBC drama 'Labor Attorney No Moo-jin,' starring Jung Kyung-ho. Both dramas feature lawyers who can see ghosts and resolve their grievances, blending fantasy with legal drama. The protagonists undergo personality transformations when possessed by spirits, adding comedic flair, and both series incorporate occult elements with courtroom drama. Some viewers noted, "It feels like the same show with a different title and channel," and "Watching Yoo Yeon-seok reminds me of Jung Kyung-ho."

Scheduling: The Decisive Factor in Viewership

However, the outcomes diverged. Jung Kyung-ho's 'Labor Attorney No Moo-jin' concluded with disappointing ratings, ranging from 2% to a peak of 5.6%. It faced tough competition, with SBS's 'Return' capturing a peak 11.0% viewership, tvN's 'Unknown Seoul' surpassing a 20% drama buzz share, and JTBC's 'Good Boy' maintaining a 6% rating while lead actor Park Bo-gum topped actor buzz for seven consecutive weeks. Ultimately, 'Labor Attorney No Moo-jin' was overshadowed and received harsh evaluations.

In contrast, 'Shin-i and the Law Office' benefits from favorable scheduling. Competing shows like MBC's 'Your Glorious Season,' JTBC's 'Efficient Meeting of Singles,' and tvN's 'How to Become a Building Owner in Korea' are stuck in the 2-4% range. Yoo Yeon-seok's unique comedic style has successfully captured the audience amidst a lineup of gentle romances and high-barrier suspense dramas.

The execution also played a role. While 'Labor Attorney No Moo-jin' focused on labor issues, potentially becoming heavy, 'Shin-i and the Law Office' increased its comedic tone and introduced a romance line with Esom, enhancing its mass appeal.
