'Lee Seo-jin's Dalla Dalla' is a reality show featuring Lee Seo-jin and PD Na Young-seok on an unscripted journey across the United States. Following the success of 'Three Meals a Day in Kenya,' this marks the second variety show from Na Young-seok's team on Netflix.
What makes this trip special is Lee Seo-jin's role as a guide in Texas, a place he considers his second home. Known for his cynical yet honest charm, Lee Seo-jin leads Na Young-seok and his team on a chaotic yet entertaining adventure filled with laughter.
Na Young-seok PD, who reunites with Lee Seo-jin for this journey, stated, “In reality shows, the likability of the cast is more than half of the program's appeal.” He described Lee Seo-jin as someone who acts boldly without worrying about others' opinions but quietly takes care of those around him. PD Kim Ye-seul added, “Lee Seo-jin's seemingly cold but warm-hearted nature is what viewers find attractive. He may grumble throughout the trip, but he takes care of everything, making you wish he was around.”
From eating gamjatang and dim sum after a 13-hour flight to visiting a roller rink, and preferring a 'goods shop' over a NASA experience, Lee Seo-jin's 'fanaticism' leads the way. This unscripted journey offers an experience unlike any other, with no plans, goals, or reasons, just following guide Lee Seo-jin.
Na Young-seok PD described it as “a travelogue of ordinary men doing things their way, according to their tastes.” He added, “Since Texas isn't a common setting for travel shows, we hope viewers will enjoy it as if they're traveling with us.” PD Kim Ye-seul emphasized, “It's a Texas trip done the way we want, sharing Lee Seo-jin's tastes remotely, and showcasing the fun of long-standing camaraderie.”
The reunion of Lee Seo-jin and Na Young-seok, who share a 15-year friendship, heightens anticipation. 'Lee Seo-jin's Dalla Dalla' stems from Lee Seo-jin's deep love for Texas and his desire to introduce it to close friends, making the chemistry with his 'real friends' an essential highlight.
While guide 'Mr. Lee' may grumble, the excited energy of the team promises amusement. Their deep understanding of each other leads to playful banter and chemistry. PD Kim Ye-seul noted, “During post-production, it felt like a romantic comedy with a lively female lead and a cynical male lead.
