Korean Entertainer Jisangryeol Opens Up About Marriage Plans with Shin Boram
On the October 14th episode of KBS2's variety show 'Men Who Do Housework' (hereafter 'Salimnam'), special guest Lee Nagyung from fromis_9 appeared, alongside the second part of Park Seojin siblings' diet story and the project by Eun Jiwon and Moon Heejoon to get Jisangryeol married.
In Jisangryeol's daily VCR, legendary idols and eternal rivals Eun Jiwon of Sechs Kies and Moon Heejoon of H.O.T. appeared together, drawing attention. Eun Jiwon remarked, "Jisangryeol is 57 this year and still unmarried. At this rate, he might end up living alone," and added, "Kim Janghoon is 64 this year and still hasn't married. I want to show him to Jisangryeol as a wake-up call." Eun Jiwon and Moon Heejoon then visited Kim Janghoon. The neatly organized home and Kim Janghoon's flamboyant all-white outfit with feather decorations caught the eye. Moon Heejoon humorously suggested, "Please show Jisangryeol what could happen if he doesn't marry now," eliciting laughter.
Shortly after, Jisangryeol arrived at Kim Janghoon's house, marking a historic meeting between the entertainment industry's representative bachelor and a potential future bachelor. After observing Kim Janghoon's home, Jisangryeol commented, "Janghoon hyung is living too lavishly. His lifestyle isn't bad at all," showing a reaction contrary to the intended effect. Kim Janghoon responded, "I can live like this because I don't have a wife. People think I'm poor, but my rent is 5 million won a month," highlighting his financial independence.
Moon Heejoon jokingly asked, "So how much are you behind on rent?" pushing the image of Kim Janghoon as a lonely bachelor, causing laughter. Unfazed, Kim Janghoon pulled out a wad of cash, stating, "I live with this much. Seeing money makes loneliness disappear, so it's not time for marriage yet," and revealed, "It's been over 20 years since my last love," surprising everyone. After witnessing Kim Janghoon's bachelor lifestyle, Jisangryeol concluded, "Thanks to you, I've made up my mind. The bachelor life is not for me," showing that the shock therapy worked.
Later, Kim Janghoon prepared a celebratory noodle dish to support Jisangryeol's marriage, touching everyone. He shared, "I looked into Jisangryeol and Shin Boram's story. Honestly, I hope you go for it," conveying his sincere wishes behind a playful facade. Moon Heejoon asked, "The most important thing is whether sister-in-law (Shin Boram) is thinking about marriage," and called Shin Boram to ask directly. After hearing the situation, Shin Boram shyly replied, "We should talk about marriage after oppa brings it up first," prompting studio comments like "She's been waiting" and "It seems Boram isn't against the idea."
After the call with Shin Boram, Kim Janghoon emphasized, "You must seize this opportunity. It doesn't come often," and Jisangryeol responded, "I've been waiting for the right timing. I feel like I should express my feelings," adding, "Boram seems to know my style and has been waiting." Finally, Kim Janghoon expressed, "I hope Jisangryeol finds happiness for both of us. Seeing that would make me happy."
