JTBC's New Drama '모자무싸' Unveils Park Hae-jun's Profound Portrayal of Solitude

JTBC's upcoming drama '모두가 자신의 무가치함과 싸우고 있다' (hereafter '모자무싸') reveals a new facet of Park Hae-jun's limitless acting range. This time, he takes on the role of a former poet, capturing the 'depth of solitude' through profound silence.


'모자무싸' is a new weekend drama on JTBC that follows the journey of a man driven to madness by jealousy and envy among his successful friends, as he seeks peace. Park Hae-jun, who caused a sensation last year as the kind-hearted iron man Yang Gwan-sik, now transforms into the solitary former poet Hwang Jin-man.

Hwang Jin-man is the older brother of aspiring film director Hwang Dong-man (played by Koo Kyo-hwan), who once wrote poetry but crumbled after experiencing the depths of incompetence. He has since cut ties with the world, making a living through welding and farming, relying on alcohol and TV to get through the day. The released images reveal the deep solitude of Hwang Jin-man, who has isolated himself from the world. Sitting alone at the dining table staring into space or cooling off in a cabbage field under the scorching sun has become his daily routine.

The chemistry between Koo Kyo-hwan and Park Hae-jun as brothers is another point of anticipation. Hwang Dong-man, who hides his inferiority and anxiety with verbose speech, and the silent Hwang Jin-man, trapped in his own world, live under the same roof, each battling their sense of worthlessness in different ways. Their story, brought to life by the skilled actors Koo Kyo-hwan and Park Hae-jun, promises both dramatic intrigue and depth. The stills of the brothers sharing a modest drink hint at a peculiar brotherly bond.

The production team stated, "Park Hae-jun is an actor who transforms so completely for each role that you forget his real face. This time, he adds profound depth to the solitude of Hwang Jin-man, anchoring the drama." '모자무싸' is a collaboration between writer Park Hae-young, known for crafting the noblest sentences from life's lowest emotions, and director Cha Young-hoon, who captures the extraordinary bonds of ordinary people with warm humanism. The drama premieres on April 18 at 10:40 PM on JTBC.
