Comedian Lee Sang-min Unveils $10 Million Toy Museum on 'The Manager'

Comedian Lee Sang-min, who once revealed he was a top student and student council president in high school, has unveiled a $10 million museum dedicated to his passion for toys.

On the October 14th episode of MBC's variety show 'The Manager' (Episode 389), top-tier toy enthusiast and comedian Lee Sang-hoon made his first appearance. Known for spending around $60,000 annually on toys, Lee's influence in the collector's world was highlighted when he received a one-of-a-kind 'K-Pop Demon Hunters' Huntrix sample figure worth approximately $100,000 before its official release. The production company chose Lee's channel to showcase the figure to Korean fans, underscoring his status as the 'Yoo Jae-suk of the collector's world.' The sample was so rare that it was hand-carried from Hong Kong, as shipping was not an option. The intricate details of the figure, crafted by a skilled sculptor, captivated the show's commentators.

Lee's passion for collecting extends beyond himself, influencing those around him. He shares a close bond with fellow 'Star Wars' enthusiast Kang Daniel, often dining together at home. He also named Treasure's Choi Hyun-suk and 10CM as the first and second 'top fans turned enthusiasts' (top-fan-enthusiasts) he inspired. Additionally, Lee's 'Assembly Task Force,' consisting of fellow comedians Park Young-jin, Jung Bum-kyun's wife, and other comedian juniors and producers, has become a cultural phenomenon, showcasing their unique and joyful collector's league.

The highlight of Lee's collection is a two-story, 200-pyeong (approximately 7,000 square feet) toy museum, completed over 25 years with an investment of $10 million. The museum's overwhelming scale and lifelike displays of movie and comic characters, weighing a total of 60 tons, leave visitors in awe.

Lee's dedication to his hobby continues into the evening, as he explores the world of custom figures with artists like 'John Park Toy' and 'Adios,' who create backgrounds for figures. His eyes gleam with excitement as he delves into the extraordinary world of custom creations.
