Actor-Turned-Artist Park Shin-yang Addresses Rumors on 'Kim Joo-ha's Day & Night'

Park Shin-yang, who has transformed into an artist, will appear on MBN's 'Kim Joo-ha's Day & Night' to discuss the truth behind rumors surrounding his career shift. The 57-year-old actor-turned-painter will share his story on the 16th episode airing on October 14 at 9:40 PM.

Returning with a 13-year career as a painter, Park Shin-yang will address various rumors that have emerged since he focused on painting six years ago, leaving his acting career behind. The show's hosts question him about rumors suggesting he chose painting as an escape from the physical demands of acting or that he uses his fame to sell his artwork. Park Shin-yang responds firmly, calling such rumors "serious nonsense," heating up the atmosphere on set.

Park Shin-yang reveals that his passion for painting was ignited during a visit to an art museum in Russia, describing the experience as feeling like "peppermint candy pouring into me." He shares that this feeling has persisted for 10 to 20 years, demonstrating his long-standing dedication to art. He also discusses his recent exhibition at the Sejong Center Art Museum, where he recreated the exhibition space in Andong, likening the effort to a blockbuster operation.

As an author of three books, Park Shin-yang explains that he wrote his first book out of exhaustion from explaining his reasons for painting for nine hours. Despite his sincere explanations to art associates, he faced rumors of using a ghost painter, leading him to express frustration with the situation.

Park Shin-yang, who describes himself as a 'friend-like dad,' shares that he still travels alone with his daughter and even paints for her, proving his devotion as a 'daughter's fool.' He fondly recalls how his daughter once gave him a photo, suggesting he paint it, showcasing their close relationship.
