Shocking Twist: Wife's Lover Turns Out to Be the Attacker in Husband Assault Case

In a shocking turn of events, a man who attacked a husband turned out to be the wife's lover. This intriguing case will be featured in the 32nd episode of the E-channel original web variety show 'Detective Talk' Season 2, airing on the YouTube channel 'Detective Talk' on the 13th.

Before delving into the case, Kim Nam-il shares a special connection with Inspector Lee Kyung-ro, revealing they have met twice before. Kim explains, "When I was playing in Incheon, he was close with my coach," to which Ahn Jung-hwan jokingly responds, "I thought you got into trouble."

Inspector Lee Kyung-ro describes the case as "the most memorable and regrettable case" in his 30-year career. He recalls watching Professor Lee Ho on 'You Quiz on the Block' discussing an autopsy that reminded him of this case, which was referred to the National Forensic Service's Gwangju Research Institute.

The incident began in 1999 with a report of a home invasion. A burglar entered the couple's bedroom and struck the husband on the forehead with a hammer three times. The husband resisted, causing the intruder to flee. There were no signs of forced entry or stolen items, raising suspicions among detectives. Upon reviewing the couple's call records, it was discovered that the wife frequently communicated with her brother and another man. Notably, she had spoken to both the day before the incident, and all three phones were traced to the same cell tower during the break-in.

Initially, the wife denied knowing the man she had been in contact with, but eventually confessed he was her lover. The so-called burglar was, in fact, her lover, and the wife, her lover, and her brother had conspired together. Following her confession, the other two also admitted their involvement, and the husband recovered safely.

However, the case did not end there. As Inspector Lee Kyung-ro stated, "You have to hear the whole story." This was not their first attempt to kill the husband. Further investigation revealed additional murder attempts and hidden crimes, leaving everyone in shock. Kim Nam-il reportedly expressed his outrage, saying, "This is not something a human would do."
