Yoo Yeon-seok and Lee Som Share Behind-the-Scenes Stories of Their Chemistry in 'Shin-Irang Law Office'

Lead actors Yoo Yeon-seok (41) and Lee Som (36) have shared insights into their on-screen chemistry.

The press conference for SBS's new Friday-Saturday drama 'Shin-Irang Law Office' (hereafter 'Shin-Irang') was held on the afternoon of the 11th at the SBS headquarters in Mok-dong, Yangcheon-gu, Seoul. Director Shin Jung-hoon, along with actors Yoo Yeon-seok, Lee Som, and Kim Kyung-nam, attended the event. 'Shin-Irang' is a unique and heartwarming adventure that follows 'possessed lawyer' Shin-Irang, who resolves the grudges of the deceased, and 'cold-blooded elite lawyer' Han Na-hyun, who stakes everything on winning cases.

Lee Som plays Han Na-hyun, an ace lawyer with a 100% win rate at a major law firm. Regarding her chemistry with Yoo Yeon-seok, she smiled and said, "Initially, it was challenging because our characters were at odds. However, as filming progressed, we developed a good rapport, exchanging jokes and enjoying the shoot."

She further commented on her role, "On the surface, my character may seem cold and cool, but I wanted to explore her inner pain and vulnerability. Creating that journey was enjoyable. I believe this project will showcase a more human side of my character compared to previous works."

Yoo Yeon-seok takes on the role of Shin-Irang, who opens his first law office in a former shaman's house and unexpectedly gains the ability to see ghosts. Speaking about his co-star Lee Som, he said, "At first, I kept my distance because of her character's possession scenes. Initially, our characters meet as opposing lawyers and have a distant relationship, but as the story progresses, their chemistry improves significantly. This mirrored our real-life chemistry on set."

He added, "I had many concerns about the Na-hyun character early on, which led me to frequently consult with the director, sometimes for 30 minutes to an hour at a time. It showed how dedicated I was. I enjoyed filming the comedy scenes, which made the experience pleasant. Lee Som also knew the best places to eat, so we bonded over food during breaks, enhancing our chemistry further."

'Shin-Irang' premieres on SBS at 9:50 PM on the 13th.
