WOODZ Opens Up About His Father's Passing and Career Journey on 'You Quiz on the Block'
The 334th episode of 'You Quiz on the Block' (directed by Heo Kang-seok and Kim Ji-young, written by Lee Eon-joo) features Buddhist monk Hosan, who has supported Korean snowboard medalists, singer WOODZ, who achieved a reverse charting phenomenon with a song he sang in the military, AI researcher and neuroscientist Professor Kim Dae-sik, and actor Lee Dong-hwi, known for his unique presence in every role.
Bongseonsa Temple's head monk Hosan, who has been supporting Korean snowboard medalists for 23 years, appears on 'You Quiz'. Known as the spiritual pillar for national snowboarders like Choi Ga-on, Kim Sang-gyeom, Yoo Seung-eun, and Lee Chae-woon, he shares how he entered the world of snowboarding with five ski season passes he received by chance and the background of the 'Dharma Cup Snowboard Competition' he started in 2003 and has continued for 23 years.
WOODZ (Cho Seung-youn), the artist behind the reverse charting phenomenon, also meets Yoo Jae-suk to share stories never heard before. Returning with his first full-length album and a new short hairstyle, WOODZ reveals the behind-the-scenes of his self-composed song 'Drowning', which he sang during his military service and became a hit.
He shares the unexpected impact of the song, saying, "I never imagined it would change my life," and performs an impromptu a cappella version of 'Drowning' along with a dance segment, heating up the atmosphere. The episode also delves into WOODZ's 12-year journey in the music industry, from his time as a soccer prodigy studying in Brazil at 14, to his pursuit of a music career through over 50 auditions, and his three years as a YG trainee.
tvN's 'You Quiz on the Block' airs every Wednesday at 8:45 PM.
