KBS Drama 'Love Prescription' Captivates Weekend Viewers with Intricate Family Ties
Last weekend, episodes 9 and 10 of KBS 2TV's weekend drama 'Love Prescription' (directed by Han Joon-seo, Bae Eun-hye / written by Park Ji-sook / produced by HB Entertainment) aired at 8 PM, touching viewers' hearts with its portrayal of family love blossoming amidst tangled fates.
Na Sun-hae (played by Kim Mi-sook) and Yang Sun-chul (played by Joo Jin-mo) sat down to address the long-standing conflict between their families. They reminisced about the past when they were close enough to name each other's children, smiling at the memories. However, the tragic past where Na Sun-hae's husband and Yang Sun-chul's wife eloped at night continues to haunt the next generation.
Ultimately, Yang Sun-chul decided that it was best for the families to part ways for the future, and Na Sun-hae accepted this calmly, saying, “We must sever these ill-fated ties now.” The weight of the years they endured and the responsibility they bore as family pillars were evident in their eyes, leaving a deep impression on viewers.
Gong Dae-han (played by Choi Dae-chul) did not want his family to move because of him. He wanted to uphold the integrity of the family clinic, following in the footsteps of his grandfather and father, and couldn't bear to see his brother Gong Jung-han (played by Kim Seung-soo) struggle because of him.
Yang Dong-ik (played by Kim Hyung-mook) faced the shocking truth that his sister Yang Dong-sook's (played by Jo Mi-ryung) husband and Gong Dae-han's wife were having an affair. Yang Dong-ik blamed his sister, pushing her to her breaking point, and Yang Dong-sook finally unleashed her pent-up resentment. Recalling her past of being pushed into marriage for her brother's remarriage, her tears evoked sympathy.
Yang Dong-ik confronted Min Yong-gil (played by Kwon Hae-sung) with unrestrained retribution. His fierce punishment of Min Yong-gil, who failed to keep his promise to make Yang Dong-sook happy and instead subjected her to hardship and infidelity, provided viewers with a sense of satisfaction.
The generational feud also obstructed the relationship between Gong Joo-ah (played by Jin Se-yeon) and Yang Hyun-bin (played by Park Ki-woong). Yang Hyun-bin resolved to change his embarrassing family for Gong Joo-ah, but the rift between the families was deeper than anticipated. The past helplessness that led him to choose studying abroad resurfaced, causing him distress, while Gong Joo-ah chose her family over her feelings, hinting at future turmoil in their relationship and piquing curiosity.
'Love Prescription' continues to resonate with weekend viewers by intricately depicting the narratives and emotions of three generations.
Meanwhile, KBS 2TV's weekend drama 'Love Prescription' will not air on the 7th due to WBC coverage and will return with back-to-back episodes 11 and 12 on the 8th at 8 PM.
