Lee Eun-hyung, mother of an 18-month-old son, recently shared her emotional struggles with parenting.

On October 3rd, the YouTube channel 'GiYuTV' posted a video titled '{Parenting Log} Mom, Are You Curious About My Personality?'.

In the video, Lee Eun-hyung and her husband Kang Jae-jun invited a child psychology expert to their home to conduct a temperament test for their 18-month-old son, Hyun-jo. Kang Jae-jun expressed concerns, asking, "I've heard that Hyun-jo might be a bit slow in speaking, and I'm curious about his developmental progress." The expert explained, "Hyun-jo is a baby who likes to focus. Therefore, maintaining eye contact is crucial to enhance the basic social interaction skills." Lee Eun-hyung sought advice, saying, "I've been worried because it feels like he doesn't look at us much." The expert added, "He seems more interested in objects than people."

Lee Eun-hyung admitted to shedding tears due to the challenges of parenting not going as planned. She confessed, "I cried. I understand that a child can be slow in speaking, but I questioned if my approach was wrong."

The expert further explained about Hyun-jo, "His understanding of language is higher than his ability to express it. He knows more context than he can articulate, so it's important to encourage him to use simple expressions." The expert also advised, "When a child is deeply focused, they might forget to speak. It's natural. For children who are deeply focused, it's better to approach them directly when talking."

Kang Jae-jun shared another instance of Lee Eun-hyung's emotional moment, saying, "One morning, when Hyun-jo was doing something and she called out 'Hyun-jo,' he didn't respond, and she started crying. Later, she was drinking beer alone at night." Lee Eun-hyung, feeling embarrassed, laughed and added, "No matter how much effort I put into parenting, it doesn't seem to show, and when the child doesn't respond, it makes me angry and filled with self-blame."

Comedians Lee Eun-hyung and Kang Jae-jun got married in 2017 and welcomed their son Hyun-jo in August 2024.
