Destined Love Sparks Between Doctor and Top Star in New Medical Thriller 'Dr. Shin'

Doctor Jung I-chan and top star Baek Se-ra are set to embark on a whirlwind romance.

Premiering on October 14 at 10:30 PM, TV CHOSUN's new weekend mini-series 'Dr. Shin' (written by Phoebe, Im Sung-han) is a medical thriller drama about a genius doctor challenging the realm of the divine and a woman whose brain deteriorates overnight, losing her soul.

Jung I-chan plays the role of Shin Ju-shin, a genius doctor with near-supernatural brain surgery skills, while Baek Se-ra takes on the role of Momo, a top actress at the peak of her career. This marks their first collaboration, having been personally selected by writer Phoebe through a competitive audition process. As this is their first leading role, there is much anticipation for their performances.

Jung I-chan and Baek Se-ra captivate attention with the beginning of a significant romance in 'Dr. Shin'. In the drama, Shin Ju-shin (played by Jung I-chan) invites Momo (played by Baek Se-ra) to a high-end restaurant for their first meeting. Despite his stoic demeanor, Shin Ju-shin shows interest in Momo, who responds with the poise and elegance of a top actress. Shin Ju-shin then boldly expresses his affection by placing a necklace around Momo's neck, to which she responds with a bright smile.

During the filming of this pivotal scene where Shin Ju-shin and Momo first acknowledge each other's presence, Jung I-chan and Baek Se-ra displayed intense acting passion. They shared the emotional nuances of their characters, aligning even the smallest gestures, and their perfect synchronization in movement and gaze heightened expectations.

The production team stated, "Jung I-chan and Baek Se-ra have put forth their best efforts to deliver high-quality performances," adding, "Please watch 'Dr. Shin' to see how they portray a fate intertwined with love, desire, and taboo, as chosen by writer Phoebe."

'Dr. Shin' explores the bizarre romance involving a top star in a coma due to an accident, the man who loved her, and the men who continue to love her. It will be simultaneously available on TV CHOSUN and Coupang Play.
