Actress Hae-rin Ha Discusses Bold Scenes in 'Bridgerton' Season 4

Hae-rin Ha, known as the granddaughter of actress Son Sook, shared her thoughts on filming bold scenes in the Netflix series 'Bridgerton' Season 4.

On the 4th, a press conference for Netflix's 'Bridgerton' Season 4 was held at Community House Masil in Jung-gu, Seoul, where actress Hae-rin Ha participated and shared her experiences.

'Bridgerton' Season 4 is a romantic series that explores love, identity, and class boundaries between Benedict Bridgerton (played by Luke Thompson), a free spirit indifferent to marriage, and Sophie Beck (played by Hae-rin Ha), a maid he meets at a masquerade ball. Hae-rin Ha, a Korean-American actress who gained attention for her roles in Netflix's 'Survivors' and the drama 'Halo', takes on the role of Sophie, creating a buzz.

During the event, Hae-rin Ha candidly discussed her experience filming intimate scenes in 'Bridgerton', a series known for its lavish romance and daring love scenes, with each season featuring intense romantic moments centered around the main couples.

Hae-rin Ha filmed relatively bold scenes, including a bathtub scene, as her character's relationship with Benedict deepens. She admitted, "I had a lot of concerns and pressure," adding, "Like in Hollywood and other industries, I felt there is a gaze on women's bodies in society and media."

She continued, "There seems to be an atmosphere where many people think they have the right to judge or criticize women's bodies shown on screen," expressing her initial fear and pressure before filming.

Growing up in Korea also influenced her perception of beauty standards. She noted, "Every society has its standards, but I felt Korea has stricter beauty standards compared to the West," adding, "During my time in Korea, my perspective on my body was influenced in a certain direction."

Hae-rin Ha emphasized the importance of the professional system on set, highlighting the role of the intimacy coordinator. She stated, "Working with an intimacy coordinator on set was crucial. They play an important role in ensuring both actors and staff feel safe during intimate scenes."

She added, "They helped design the scenes and ensured everyone on set felt comfortable and safe. I believe such an environment allows actors to deliver their best performances."
