Hong Ji-yoon and Koo Soo-kyung Dazzle in 'The King of Singers 3' Semi-Finals

Hong Ji-yoon and Koo Soo-kyung are set to electrify the semi-finals of MBN's 'The King of Singers 3' with their stunning transformations.

The previous episode of 'The King of Singers 3' achieved a peak viewership rating of 13.2% and a nationwide rating of 12.7%. In the upcoming 11th episode, airing on the 3rd, Hong Ji-yoon and Koo Soo-kyung will unleash new charms in the first round of the finals, the 'New Song Battle,' as they vie for the title of the '3rd King of Singers.'

Hong Ji-yoon, who has been praised for her wide musical spectrum, covering genres like 'Han Oh Baek Nyeon,' 'Mr. You,' and 'Korean-Japanese Collaboration Boat Song,' takes on a bold challenge in the semi-finals. She will reinterpret traditional Korean court music into a modern ballad trot and learn the traditional Korean song 'Jeongga' in just a week. After her performance, Hong Ji-yoon expressed her struggles, saying, "It was incredibly difficult," evoking sympathy.

Koo Soo-kyung, who overcame a decade of obscurity to reach the semi-finals in 4th place, showcases her potential as a 'growth dark horse.' In the 'New Song Battle,' she aims to comfort others as she was comforted, taking on traditional trot music. Composer Yoon Myung-sun revealed, "I lost my voice adding chorus to Koo Soo-kyung's new song," surprising everyone with the high-pitched performance. The question remains whether Hong Ji-yoon, who has continuously transformed, and Koo Soo-kyung, who has never lost in 'The King of Singers 3,' will advance to the finals.

Shin Dong-yup, for the first time in the 'The King of Singers' series since 2023, combines dance and singing on stage, heating up the atmosphere. During Seol Woon-do's celebratory performance of 'Love Twist' in the semi-finals, Shin Dong-yup was pulled from the MC seat to the stage. Without hesitation, he showcased his twist dance skills, captivating the audience.

Shin Dong-yup humorously remarked, "I danced the most vigorously in years," and "I sang sober for the first time in a while," leaving everyone in stitches. Anticipation builds for Shin Dong-yup's debut stage on 'The King of Singers.'
