Actor Park Young-kyu Learns of Baseball Player Hwang Jae-gyun's Divorce on 'Radio Star'
The 954th episode, which aired on the 25th, featured guests Park Young-kyu, Hwang Jae-gyun, Yoo Hee-kwan, and No Min-woo.
Hwang Jae-gyun, who retired last December, shared, “This is the time when I should be heading to spring training. But for the first time in 20 years, I'm experiencing the winter chill in Korea. It felt strange seeing off my juniors for the last time and returning home.” He even prepared lunch boxes to see them off at the airport.
When Park Young-kyu asked, “Who is at home?” Hwang replied, “I have two dogs.” This prompted Park to ask, “Weren't you married?” causing a moment of awkwardness.
Park Young-kyu comforted Hwang by holding his hand and saying, “Nice to meet you, really. Suddenly, I feel affection. Don't worry.” Kim Gura jokingly added, “Even if we all combine, we're still tied with this brother (Park Young-kyu) in terms of marriages.”
Hwang Jae-gyun also expressed satisfaction with his nickname 'Sex Machine'. He explained, “In 2015, I did an interview with foreign player Eric Thames. The announcer asked about our bodies, and Thames said in English, 'K-pop model sex machine.' It means 'a sexy body like a K-pop model,' but the interpreter froze and directly translated it into Korean.”
When Yoo Se-yoon commented, “It's not a bad nickname, right?” Hwang replied, “As a man, I find it satisfying.” However, Yoo Hee-kwan revealed, “In the baseball world, people are puzzled about why he got that nickname.”
Hwang Jae-gyun married T-ara's Jiyeon in 2022, faced multiple rumors of separation and divorce, and officially divorced in October 2024.
