KBS2 Drama 'Red Pearl' Premiere: A Tale of Betrayal and Twin Intrigue

Park Jin-hee is enraged upon discovering she is pregnant with a married man's child.

The first episode of KBS2's daily drama 'Red Pearl,' which aired on the 23rd, revealed that Park Tae-ho (played by Choi Jae-sung) had deliberately used Kim Myung-hee (played by Park Jin-hee) to have a child. The episode garnered a nationwide viewership rating of 9.0%.

The episode began with a pregnant Kim Myung-hee dreaming of a happy future with Park Tae-ho. His affectionate gesture of giving her a pearl necklace seemed to complete their peaceful life. However, his cold response to her suggestion of registering their marriage hinted at hidden cracks in their relationship.

The tranquility did not last long. The arrival of Oh Jung-ran (played by Kim Hee-jung) and Song Geun-tae (played by Lee Myung-ho) disrupted everything. A furious Oh Jung-ran exclaimed, “How dare you cling to someone else's husband?” revealing herself as Park Tae-ho's legal wife. The revelation of his supposedly deceased wife's existence shocked Kim Myung-hee, instantly heightening the drama's intensity.

Park Tae-ho's true nature, now exposed, was enough to incite viewers' anger. Unable to have children with his wife Oh Jung-ran, Park Tae-ho sought out Kim Myung-hee, who was in need of money, to bear his child. Realizing she had been thoroughly used, Kim Myung-hee decided to leave him.

During a heated argument at the Adele House, Oh Jung-ran's sudden nausea hinted at her pregnancy, escalating the tension. This moment marked the beginning of a fierce clash of desires among the characters entangled in complex relationships.

The episode ended powerfully. On the hospital rooftop, Kim Myung-hee encountered her twin sister Kim Dan-hee (also played by Park Jin-hee), completing a dramatic ending. Park Jin-hee's dual role performance is set to intensify, leaving viewers curious about the fate of the two sisters.
