Shin Hye-sun Reunites with Lee Jun-hyuk After 8 Years in Netflix's 'Lady Dua'
On the 20th, an interview with Shin Hye-sun from the Netflix series 'Lady Dua' was conducted at a café located in Samcheong-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul. On this day, Shin Hye-sun showcased her spring styling by wearing a trench coat to match the warmer weather.
'Lady Dua' tells the story of 'Sarah Kim' (played by Shin Hye-sun), a woman who desires to become a luxury brand even if it's fake, and 'Moo Kyung' (played by Lee Jun-hyuk), a man who tracks her ambitions. In the series, Shin Hye-sun takes on the role of Sarah Kim, the mysterious Asia branch manager of the luxury brand 'Boudoir', which is unattainable just by wanting it.
The project garnered significant attention even during the casting stage before its release, as it marked the reunion of Shin Hye-sun and Lee Jun-hyuk after 9 years since the 2017 drama 'Stranger'. When asked about their chemistry as actors meeting again at the top of their careers, Shin Hye-sun laughed heartily.
Shin Hye-sun shared, "Senior Lee Jun-hyuk felt like a cousin brother since 'Stranger'. I felt a great internal closeness. Although he was already famous, I felt proud seeing him succeed more and more."
She continued, "The senior also acknowledged the path I've walked. It was really nice of him to say that to a junior. Having someone to rely on while filming is significant. The senior always says, 'from the consumer's perspective'. He's someone who views the work broadly, so our chemistry was great," she expressed with satisfaction.
Meanwhile, 'Lady Dua' ranked 3rd in the global TOP 10 non-English shows after its release on the 13th. It also topped the charts in South Korea, Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam, and Malaysia, and made it to the TOP 10 list in a total of 38 countries, including Bahrain, Peru, Colombia, Hong Kong, Singapore, Japan, and Kenya.
