Park Sung-woong Joins New KBS Drama 'Simu-myeon Yeonliri' Premiering March 26
'Simu-myeon Yeonliri' (directed by Choi Yeon-soo, written by Song Jeong-rim and Wang Hye-ji, produced by Sim Story) is a heartwarming family reboot drama. It follows the urban family of Seong Tae-hoon as they struggle to return to Seoul after being unexpectedly relocated to the rural area of 'Yeonliri'.
The series is directed by Choi Yeon-soo, known for co-directing '24-Hour Fitness Club', 'Crazy Love', and 'The Ballot'. Writers Song Jeong-rim, known for 'Let's Get Married, Mangpong!' and 'Bride of the Typhoon', and Wang Hye-ji, known for 'Romance Without Love', have teamed up for this project. The casting of trusted actors Park Sung-woong and Lee Soo-kyung as a couple has heightened interest in the drama.
The released script reading video features the main cast of 'Simu-myeon Yeonliri'. Director Choi Yeon-soo, along with Park Sung-woong (as Seong Tae-hoon), Lee Soo-kyung (as Jo Mi-ryeo), Lee Seo-hwan (as Im Joo-hyung), Nam Kwon-ah (as Nam Hye-seon), Lee Jin-woo (as Seong Ji-cheon), Choi Gyu-ri (as Im Bo-mi), Choi Woo-jin (as Park Soon-gyeong), Seo Yoon-hyuk (as Seong Ji-sang), and Yang Woo-hyuk (as Seong Ji-goo) gathered together.
Lee Soo-kyung takes on the role of Jo Mi-ryeo, a mother raising three sons alone while her husband is tied to his job. She realistically portrays a supermom who turns crises into opportunities, adding impact to her character. Park Sung-woong and Lee Soo-kyung, in their third collaboration, showcased genuine chemistry from the reading, bringing smiles to the set.
Meanwhile, Lee Jin-woo and Choi Gyu-ri are set to captivate viewers with their romance in 'Yeonliri'. They play Seong Ji-cheon and Im Bo-mi, children of rival families Seong Tae-hoon (Park Sung-woong) and Im Joo-hyung (Lee Seo-hwan), respectively. Their portrayal of a 'Romeo and Juliet' story in 'Yeonliri' is expected to bring a romantic thrill to Thursday nights.
Lee Seo-hwan and Nam Kwon-ah appear as the village's steadfast leaders, Im Joo-hyung and Nam Hye-seon, adding vitality to the drama. They will frequently clash with the city-dwelling Seong Tae-hoon family, providing both tension and humor.
Additionally, Choi Woo-jin as Park Soon-gyeong, involved in an intriguing love triangle with Ji-cheon and Bo-mi, and the unique characters of Seong Tae-hoon's second and youngest sons, Seo Yoon-hyuk and Yang Woo-hyuk, join the cast. The adaptation journey of this city family in 'Yeonliri' promises to unfold with humor and warmth, as the actors' teamwork, evident from the script reading, is expected to shine in the broadcast.
The new KBS 2TV mini-series 'Simu-myeon Yeonliri' premieres on March 26 at 9:50 PM.
