Animal YouTuber Kang Tae Lee's Heartfelt Dedication to Rescued Pets
The episode highlighted Kang Tae Lee's commitment to rescuing and caring for abandoned animals. He shared, "I spend about 300,000 won a month on pet food, and the annual veterinary bills range from 10 to 20 million won. Previously, I had three pets who passed away due to illness, and their care cost up to 50 to 60 million won."
The VCR footage revealed a bustling household with four people and seven animals, capturing viewers' attention. Kang Tae Lee's manager and wife, Tae Ra, appeared on camera, explaining, "In our home, there are my husband Kang Tae, our two daughters, and me."
Tae Ra introduced their pets, "We have four cats and three dogs, making a total of seven animals." She also fondly remembered three pets that had passed away, saying, "There are some friends I really want to introduce."
Their daughters' love for animals was also evident. Tae Ra noted, "Our eldest especially loves animals. She learned to say 'meow' and 'woof' before human words."
Kang Tae Lee added, "My wife suggested a natural birth, and a midwife came to assist. We wanted to avoid any territorial issues with the animals, so we showed them the birth. They watched and we told them, 'This is your sibling.' They've never been aggressive since."
In the episode, Kang Tae Lee also visited a site to rescue 12 abandoned cats. His manager pointed out, "Special cleaning company representatives often see such environments. Without the owner's permission, entering is considered trespassing, so we can't rescue them unless the owner is found."
Upon arrival, they were shocked by the unsanitary conditions. The manager explained, "People start with good intentions but give up on cleaning. If waste isn't removed, this is the result."
The manager also noted, "Many of the cats are likely pregnant due to lack of neutering," and received a kitten's remains from the client. The team was moved to tears and ensured a contract was signed to prevent future animal neglect.
