Actress Lee Mi-sook Opens Up About Younger Partners in Emotional Reunion with Kim Byung-se
On the 3rd, a video titled "Reunion with My First Love(?), Meeting the Man from 'Elegy' Again...(Tears vs. Coldness)" was uploaded to the 'Lee Mi-sook_Sook's Misook' channel.
In the video, Kim Byung-se was moved to tears upon seeing Lee Mi-sook, and she comforted him with a handkerchief. The two were meeting for the first time in nearly 30 years since their appearance in the 1997 SBS drama 'Queen.'
During their conversation, Lee Mi-sook complimented Kim Byung-se, saying, "You look good, and your face looks great." Kim Byung-se responded, "I have to keep up because my wife is younger." Recently, Kim Byung-se made headlines with his 15-year-younger wife on the show 'My Ugly Duckling.'
Meanwhile, in 2012, Lee Mi-sook was embroiled in a controversy over an alleged inappropriate relationship with a man 17 years her junior who worked at a host bar. Her former agency fueled the scandal by exposing her private life, but Lee Mi-sook countered, calling it "defamation and a personal attack," asserting that she has lived without shame as a mother and a wife.
Later, on the 'Jjanhyung Shin Dong-yup' YouTube channel, Lee Mi-sook openly shared her feelings. She expressed concerns about losing her appeal as an actress, saying, "I tried impulsive things..." and noted, "People label you with the 'younger partner' tag without explanation." She added, "It's something anyone might experience, but as celebrities, we're judged harshly. I see it as a passing event. Isn't a younger partner better than an older one?" showcasing her relaxed and open-minded perspective on younger partners.
