SBS Drama 'God and Law Office' Episode 8: A Journey of Destiny and Redemption

A man who once rejected his harsh fate finds himself opening the door to the spiritual world once more after encountering a woman's desperate cry over a lost loved one.

On the October 3rd episode of SBS's 'God and Law Office' (directed by Shin Joong-hoon, written by Kim Ga-young and Kang Chul-kyu), aired at 9:50 PM, Han Na-hyun (played by Esom) faces the hardship of being ousted from the industry after deciding to quit her job to uphold her beliefs.

In this episode, Han Na-hyun firmly rejects Yang Do-kyung's (played by Kim Kyung-nam) offer and the privilege of studying in New York, declaring her independence. However, due to Yang Do-kyung's behind-the-scenes machinations, she faces rejection from all law firm interviews. Discovering a pre-marked 'X' indicating rejection on her application, Han Na-hyun criticizes the interviewers for their lack of standards and ends up handing out business cards on the street in front of the courthouse. Meanwhile, Shin Yi-rang (played by Yoo Yeon-seok), who had been celebrating his independence due to not seeing ghosts for over two weeks, also hits the streets to overcome business difficulties and reunites with Han Na-hyun.

Their meeting soon leads to an unexpected crisis. Shin Yi-rang, feeling sorry, offers Han Na-hyun the Seongmyeong Construction case he received from a senior lawyer, only to later discover the company is infamously linked to construction gangsters, leaving him shocked.

With Han Na-hyun already surrounded and threatened by the gangsters, Shin Yi-rang throws himself into the fray to rescue her, sustaining a severe arm injury while protecting her until the police arrive. This incident creates a subtle tension between the two. Han Na-hyun visits the injured Shin Yi-rang, helping him eat with clumsy chopstick skills, showing a softer side, and sincerely apologizing for her past harsh words.

Han Na-hyun's painful family history deeply affects Shin Yi-rang. She confesses that she became a lawyer to fulfill her sister's dream, who died in a drunk driving accident 13 years ago, and tearfully wishes to see her sister just once more. Reflecting on his own neglect of his abilities while yearning for a normal life, Shin Yi-rang decides to accept his fate, declaring to his brother-in-law Yoon Bong-soo (played by Jeon Seok-ho) that he will embrace his destiny.

At the end of the episode, Shin Yi-rang returns to the office, opens the forbidden black box, and performs a ritual, culminating in a powerful ending where he encounters the spirit of Han Na-hyun's sister, Han So-hyun, igniting anticipation for future developments.
