K-Pop Star Sung Si-kyung Opens Up About Financial Betrayal by Former Manager
On January 14th, the SBS 'Seol Special Concert Sung Si-kyung' aired, showcasing a comprehensive performance celebrating Sung Si-kyung's 25-year music career.
During the concert, after performing his hit song 'Two People,' Sung expressed his gratitude to the audience, saying, "I feel like a truly happy person. I am really thankful."
He added, "When the audience calls my name as I walk up, I think, 'Can I be happier than this as a singer?' It was overwhelming."
Sung Si-kyung also shared his determination, stating, "Since any bad things happening are my fault, I will be smarter and more impressive, and work even harder next year."
Back in November, it was revealed that Sung Si-kyung had suffered financial losses due to a manager he had worked with for over a decade. His agency, SK Jaewon, stated, "It was confirmed that Sung Si-kyung's former manager committed acts that betrayed the company's trust during his tenure. We are aware of the seriousness of the issue and are currently assessing the exact extent of the damage. The employee in question has since left the company."
The revelation left Sung Si-kyung shaken, and before deciding on his year-end performance, he candidly shared on Instagram, "Honestly, I keep questioning whether I can or should stand on stage in this situation."
Sung Si-kyung debuted in 2000 and is celebrating his 25th anniversary this year.
