Actor Kim Seung-soo Reveals Near-Death Experience with Acute Shingles
On the October 5th episode of KBS2's variety show 'Problem Child in House,' Kim Seung-soo appeared alongside actress So Yi-hyun.
During the broadcast, Kim Seung-soo revealed that he once came close to death due to shingles. He shared, "I had just returned from a business trip to China and had overexerted myself," setting the stage for his story.
He continued, "I relaxed with a drink and went to sleep. The next day, I woke up with a rash on my face. Within 4 to 5 hours, it started spreading across my face," he recounted, shocking the audience.
Rushing to the hospital, Kim Seung-soo was informed, "If the shingles virus reaches the brain, it can cause paralysis, and if it invades the eyes, it can lead to blindness. It paralyzes the function of the area it invades. The doctor said it seemed to have reached my cornea, so I spent 15 days bedridden," he explained.
Reflecting on the painful ordeal, he admitted, "It made me reevaluate my life. I was complacent about my health, and it was a significant wake-up call."
