Gree appeared on 'Radio Star' aired on the 4th. The recording took place on January 28th, and he arrived at the studio about four hours after his discharge ceremony. Appearing in military uniform, he created a warm atmosphere by bowing to his father, Kim Gura.
Once news of the recording immediately after discharge spread, some netizens raised the possibility of a military law violation. They argued that according to Civil Law Article 159, one becomes a civilian the day after discharge, suggesting that participating in a commercial activity like a broadcast while still technically in active service could be problematic.
However, the controversy shifted direction. Given that 'Radio Star' is a program where Kim Gura has been a regular for 18 years, many view Gree's appearance as 'dad's chance'. Notably, Gree also appeared on 'Radio Star' ten days before enlisting in the Marines, stating then, "I want to go my own way after discharge, without being tied to my dad." Yet, he appeared on the same program both before enlisting and on the day of discharge.
Despite receiving much support for voluntarily enlisting in the Marines, the debate surrounding his discharge day broadcast leaves a sense of regret. Many voices now call for Gree to step out of his father Kim Gura's shadow and prove his worth independently.
