BIGBANG's Daesung Joins Choo Sung-hoon and Kim Jong-kook in New SBS Plus Variety Show

BIGBANG's Daesung (36) is set to join Choo Sung-hoon and Kim Jong-kook in the upcoming SBS Plus variety show 'The Way of the Manly Men.'

Premiering this April, 'The Way of the Manly Men' is a reality show that follows a group of men who embark on spontaneous, unscripted adventures, embracing their instincts. Known for their strong masculine energy, Choo Sung-hoon and Kim Jong-kook form the 'Manly Duo,' promising a thrilling 'extreme reality travel variety' where only the strongest survive. The show is directed by Kim Jin-ho, who previously worked on SBS's 'Law of the Jungle' and 'Jungle's Meal,' bringing together a dream team of producers.

Daesung, loved for his powerful vocals, infectious energy, and unique sense of humor, will join the instinct-driven travel adventures with the 'Manly Duo' of Choo Sung-hoon and Kim Jong-kook. This marks Daesung's first foray into travel variety shows. He has previously worked with Kim Jong-kook on the variety show 'Family Outing' and shares a close brotherly bond with Choo Sung-hoon. Daesung is expected to showcase a 'dynamic chemistry' with his instinct-driven co-stars, unlike anything seen in other variety shows.

Daesung expressed his excitement, saying, "I joined to make my brothers happy. I felt that without this program, I might never get the chance to travel with them." He added, "I'm not a 'manly man' in the traditional sense. I'm more of a 'middle man'—soft yet unbreakable."

Describing Choo Sung-hoon as a wild man and Kim Jong-kook as a tiger in a zoo, Daesung humorously referred to himself as a trainer who occasionally gets bitten by the tiger. He plans to use his charm to guide the strong-willed 'manly men' on their journey.

Daesung admitted, "I'm not the type to meticulously plan trips. I just make sure to get the departure and return dates right." He also mentioned his adventurous spirit and lack of food aversions, hinting at his adaptability to the spontaneous, instinct-driven travel style of the show.
