Soccer Star Song Min-kyu and Announcer Kwak Min-sun Tie the Knot: A Heartwarming Father-Son Moment

The wedding of soccer star Song Min-kyu and announcer Kwak Min-sun was unveiled, showcasing a touching moment between Song and his father, known for his deep affection for his son.

On the October 2nd episode of TV Chosun's 'Joseon's Love', the wedding of Song Min-kyu, who was named in the 2025 'K League Best 11', and announcer Kwak Min-sun was broadcast. The event was graced by numerous soccer stars and celebrities, including Cho Gue-sung, Koo Sung-yoon, Park Joo-ho, Lee Seung-woo, Song Bum-keun, Kim Seung-gyu, and Kim Jin-kyung. Comedian Kwak Beom hosted the ceremony, adding to the lively atmosphere.

Song Min-kyu's father, who raised his 27-year-old son while working at a tofu factory that only closes twice a year, appeared in a video with his son. Choi Sung-guk, who recently welcomed his second child, humorously noted, "I'm a year older than Min-kyu's father," drawing laughter. Song's father reminisced about his efforts to support his son's dreams despite financial hardships, moving the audience. He proudly shared how his son saved his soccer salary to buy him a house and a car, showcasing his 'proud dad' persona. Even during early morning deliveries with his son, he couldn't help but boast about him to others.

In an interview with the production team, he expressed, "(My son) is my pride and joy. He gives me a reason to live. I consider it a miracle," revealing his deep satisfaction. He also shared that since his son was in elementary school, he has attended every game, regardless of distance, by sacrificing sleep, impressing many with his dedication. Actress Jung Yi-rang commented, "It's so sweet, like watching a mother and daughter. He loves his son as if every day is the last," with a smile.

Song Min-kyu recalled a time when his father couldn't afford to buy him a 'padded jacket', saying, "I realized when my mom asked, 'Why is dad crying?' That's when I decided I had to succeed." His father, listening, eventually broke down, saying, "I'm sorry for being such an inadequate father." On the wedding day, Song Min-kyu bowed deeply to his parents and embraced his father, creating a poignant moment.
