Heartwarming Changes: Jeon Hyun-moo and Kim Jung-tae's Family Moments on 'Dad and Me Season 3'
On the October 22nd episode of TV CHOSUN's 'Dad and Me Season 3', the show kicked off with a series of confessions about past rebellious acts kept secret from parents. Hyun Joo-yeop recalled, "When our sports practice ended early in college, I would sneak off to nightclubs with senior teammates, only to be caught by my mom." Han Hye-jin added, "In the 2000s, piercings were trendy, so I secretly got a belly button piercing, but it got so infected that I had to close it up." Jeon Hyun-moo humorously confessed, "It's a bit embarrassing, but in my senior year of high school, I tried to secretly eat walnut cookies my mom packed during class and got caught by the teacher, who hit me with a hockey stick."
The episode also showcased the daily life of Kim Jung-tae's family. After school, Kim Jung-tae's eldest son, Ji-hoo, who enjoys solitude, quietly walked home alone. In contrast, his younger brother, Si-hyun, returned home with friends, creating a lively atmosphere. Si-hyun often invites his 'best friend trio' over several times a week. Kim Jung-tae naturally engaged in conversations with Si-hyun's friends. While the living room buzzed with activity, Ji-hoo focused on his studies in his room, listening to lectures.
As dinner approached, Kim Jung-tae's wife asked Ji-hoo, "Can you cook some ramen for your siblings?" Ji-hoo hesitated, "I've never cooked six packs before..." but took on the challenge for his siblings. Meanwhile, in the living room, Kim Jung-tae, Si-hyun, and his friends played with a balance board. Observing this, Ji-hoo expressed interest in joining, surprising his siblings. Si-hyun remarked, "It's been months since I've seen my brother play with friends. It's exciting to hang out with him." The group enjoyed 'Ji-hoo's ramen' and 'Mom's Busan fish cakes' together. Si-hyun's friends praised Ji-hoo's cooking, and Ji-hoo thanked them in return. Kim Jung-tae felt proud of Ji-hoo's progress in socializing, noting, "It's encouraging." Jeon Hyun-moo and Han Hye-jin also noticed Ji-hoo's positive changes since his 'Asperger's Syndrome' diagnosis.
Taking it further, Kim Jung-tae asked Si-hyun's friends for suggestions on what they wished their dads would do. Ji-hoo, surprising his parents, initiated a conversation, asking, "Do you share similar interests with your dad?" He then inquired about their interest in 'art,' his passion, but shifted the topic to his siblings' interests when met with little enthusiasm. Ji-hoo explained, "I'm not usually one to talk with others, but I wanted to get closer, so I asked." Kim Jung-tae and his wife were amazed by Ji-hoo's newfound social skills, with his wife noting, "Ji-hoo has changed. He used to have one-sided conversations, but today he asked about shared interests. His social skills have improved significantly."
With newfound confidence, Ji-hoo promised, "Next time you visit, I'll make even better ramen," showcasing his brotherly side. Kim Jung-tae shared that after the broadcast, Ji-hoo's school friends showed interest in his hobbies, and his YouTube channel subscribers tripled, signaling positive changes and an expanding world for Ji-hoo.
