Love Triangle Heats Up in 'A Baby on the Way' as Tensions Rise Between Choi Jin-hyuk and Hong Jong-hyun
In the sixth episode, aired on Sunday, November 1st, on Channel A, Min-wook (played by Hong Jong-hyun) begins to wedge himself between Do-jun (played by Choi Jin-hyuk) and Hee-won (played by Oh Yeon-seo), signaling the start of a full-blown love triangle. The show saw a slight ratings increase from 0.9% in episode 5 to 1.4% in episode 6.
Do-jun reveals a vulnerable side to Hee-won, which he never wanted her to see, but is moved by her unexpected kindness. As they share their past wounds, including family issues and trauma, they grow closer, with Do-jun increasingly drawn to Hee-won's caring nature.
Secretary Go (played by Kim Ki-doo) attempts to mediate by arranging a meeting between the two men, but it quickly devolves into a drinking contest. Min-wook taunts Do-jun, saying, "Can one night compare to 15 years?" This provokes Do-jun, who realizes the depth of Min-wook and Hee-won's relationship.
The episode ends on a cliffhanger as Do-jun's father, Kang Chan-gil (played by Son Byung-ho), collapses, adding tension. Do-jun had planned to accompany Hee-won to a prenatal appointment, but his father's accident prevents him. Min-wook, passing by, steps in as Hee-won's companion. Do-jun arrives late, only to find Min-wook with Hee-won, leaving him conflicted and viewers eager for the next episode.
