Kim Sung-kyun Draws the Line on Having a Fourth Child on 'My Ugly Duckling'
The episode featured a trip to Kazakhstan with Baek Jong-nam, Lee Sung-min, Kim Jong-soo, and Kim Sung-kyun, who have maintained a friendship for over a decade.
Upon arriving in Kazakhstan, Kim Sung-kyun asked Lee Sung-min if he would call his wife to let her know they arrived safely. Lee Sung-min replied that it wasn't necessary, while Kim Sung-kyun opted to call his wife, showcasing his affectionate side.
As Kim Sung-kyun's wife's voice came through the phone, Lee Sung-min humorously complained about the chaotic trip due to Jong-nam, saying, "We're leaving the airport two hours after arriving." Kim Sung-kyun shared his own feelings of being overwhelmed but showed his caring side as he spoke with his family.
As a father of three, Kim Sung-kyun shared that his children are in high school, middle school, and elementary school, respectively. He noted that their teenage years passed smoothly, possibly because he didn't indulge their adolescent moods. Lee Sung-min, who has a 25-year-old daughter, offered a reality check, saying, "A daughter's teenage years can be intense."
Kim Sung-kyun revealed his 'daughter fool' side, sharing that his youngest daughter writes him letters for each day of his trips. Before leaving for Kazakhstan, she left a letter in his luggage. Lee Sung-min asked if he considered having a fourth child.
Baek Jong-nam teased Kim Sung-kyun about reversing the procedure, to which Kim replied that modern methods are irreversible, emphasizing that a fourth child is not in the cards.
Lee Sung-min, aware of the couple's strong relationship, joked that without the procedure, they might have ended up with a fifth child.
Kim Sung-kyun married Kim Hye-jung, a former theater actress, in 2010, and they have two sons and a daughter.
