Veteran Actor Son Chang-min Shares Insights and Stories from His Career

Veteran actor Son Chang-min recently made a candid statement as a senior figure in the entertainment industry.

On the upcoming episode of MBN's 'Kim Joo-ha's Day & Night,' airing on the 4th at 9:40 PM, Son Chang-min, a 55-year veteran actor, will appear as a guest.

During the episode, Son Chang-min shares a story about recognizing the star potential of Lee Byung-hun during a chance encounter at a commercial shoot. Son recalls filming an ad with Lee Byung-hun's sister and advising the young Lee, who was present at the shoot, saying, "You're handsome. Become an actor and come find me!" Lee Byung-hun, remembering this advice, later sought out Son after becoming an actor, saying, "I kept my promise."

Son Chang-min also reveals a heartwarming story of persuading a director to change a role for Shin Hyun-jun, who was struggling with his image from the film 'General's Son,' before they worked together on 'The Son of the Wind' with Lee Byung-hun.

Son's manager of 16 years shares anecdotes about Son's generosity, such as paying rent before his marriage and buying all the furniture for his wedding, showcasing Son's 'tsundere' personality.

Son Chang-min, who claims, "When working on a project, I only sleep 2-3 hours a day," emphasizes his perfectionist philosophy in acting, stating, "You can't be a lead if you sleep, eat, and rest as much as you want." He adds, "I always set my watch 10 minutes ahead," and stresses the importance of punctuality, having seen many stars arrive late on set, a practice he vows never to follow.
