Ji Sung's Intense Revenge Unfolds in 'Judge Lee Han Young' as He Enters the Heart of Darkness
In the 10th episode of MBC's Friday-Saturday drama 'Judge Lee Han Young' (directed by Lee Jae Jin, Park Mi Yeon/written by Kim Kwang Min), which aired on the 31st at 9:50 PM, Lee Han Young (played by Ji Sung) judges Supreme Court Chief Justice candidate Hwang Nam Yong (played by Kim Myung Soo) and uncovers the identity of the real power behind Kang Shin Jin (played by Park Hee Soon).
In this episode, Lee Han Young confronts Hwang Nam Yong, who pressures him to deliver a not-guilty verdict in the hiring corruption trial of Hwang's son, Hwang Tae Sung (played by Kim Sun Bin). Lee Han Young declares that the corruption of high-ranking officials' children is a societal disgrace and sentences him to one year and six months in prison. Grabbing Hwang Nam Yong's arm as he swings it in anger, Lee Han Young slaps him back, revealing that he is the son of Lee Bong Seok (played by Jung Jae Sung), a victim of past judicial dealings, sending chills down the viewers' spines.
Kang Shin Jin attempts to make Hwang Nam Yong the Supreme Court Chief Justice while staging his son's suicide to garner sympathy, but Lee Han Young, who remembers his past life, acts swiftly. He sends Seok Jung Ho (played by Tae Won Seok) to rescue Hwang Tae Sung from a life-threatening situation and persuades him to hold a press conference admitting to the hiring corruption.
Kang Shin Jin, at the center of evil, expands his power by obtaining Hwang Nam Yong's illegal political funds file, even as he falls. He creates an atmosphere of fear by brutally assaulting Lee Sung Dae (played by Jo Sang Ki), who lost 3 billion won in an investment scam, and persistently suspects Lee Han Young's involvement in the incident. Following Song Na Yeon's (played by Baek Jin Hee) advice, Lee Han Young avoids opening the USB given by Kang Shin Jin, cleverly overcoming the crisis and gaining Kang's trust, finally stepping into the secret organization 'Soo O Jae.'
At the end of the episode, Lee Han Young witnesses a bizarre scene at Soo O Jae, where state institutions pour boxes full of cash into a bathtub. As Park Kwang To encourages applause with "Let's be patriotic," Lee Han Young laughs among the crazed crowd, internally calling them "crazy bastards," foreshadowing an impending war. Additionally, the story deepens with the revelation of the tragic backstory of young Kim Jin Ah (played by Won Jin Ah), who once handed a letter of apology to Lee Bong Seok, and her determination not to be swayed by Jang Tae Sik (played by Kim Beom Rae).
