Actor Sung Dong-il Speaks Out on Film Industry Challenges at 'Bloody Flower' Press Conference
On the 27th, a press conference for Disney+'s 'Bloody Flower' was held at CGV Yongsan I'Park Mall in Seoul. The event was attended by actors Sung Dong-il, Geum Sae-rok, Ryeoun, Shin Seung-hwan, Jung So-ri, and director Han Yoon-sun.
Disney+'s 'Bloody Flower' is a mystery thriller that revolves around a serial killer with the ability to cure all incurable diseases.
Ryeoun plays Lee Woo-gyeom, a serial killer with genius medical skills capable of saving the world. Sung Dong-il takes on the role of Park Han-jun, a lawyer who must defend the killer to save his sick daughter, while Geum Sae-rok portrays Cha I-yeon, a prosecutor determined to prove her worth through a death sentence.
He continued, "With reduced production budgets, the industry is pressured by financial and time constraints. Despite these challenges, I sincerely thank all the film staff for doing their best in their respective roles." He added, "Although it's difficult now, I believe that if everyone holds their ground, a better environment will eventually come."
Sung Dong-il further stated, "Securing investments is tough, and we have to cut down on episodes, so I suggested we unite and approach it like a play. The idea was to memorize the entire script and give it our all to create something impressive."
'Bloody Flower' is set to premiere on Disney+ on February 4th.
