Choi Ji-woo Discusses Her Daughter's Beauty and Career Comeback on 'My Little Old Boy'
During the episode aired on the 25th, Choi Ji-woo made a charming entrance with New Year's gifts, showcasing her kind-hearted nature. The 'Movengers' couldn't help but admire her 'ageless beauty,' exclaiming, "She looks the same. So beautiful and tall." Choi humorously responded, "I was even prettier back then, mothers," bringing laughter to the set.
When asked if she still feels her enduring popularity in Japan and if people recognize her during visits, Choi candidly replied, "They always air reruns in winter, but it's been over 20 years since the broadcast. The older generation remembers, but the younger ones don't."
Choi revealed that she and Kwon Sang-woo, her co-star from 'Stairway to Heaven,' are neighbors in the same villa. "I ran into him in the elevator just yesterday. We're the same age, so we casually talked about our movies being released," she shared.
Choi Ji-woo is making her big-screen comeback after three years with the film 'Sugar,' where she plays a mother for the first time since giving birth. "It's a story about a mother struggling for her 12-year-old son diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes," she explained.
Having given birth to her first child at 46, Choi, who calls herself the 'icon of late motherhood,' recalled, "I was about to give up on IVF when I finally got pregnant." She seeks parenting advice from Kim Tae-hee, a fellow mom with two years more experience, and they even send their children to the same ballet school.
Choi Ji-woo married a non-celebrity nine years her junior in a private ceremony in March 2018 after dating for over a year. They welcomed their daughter, Lee Ru-ah, in May 2020.
