Lee Chung-ah Transforms in 'Honor: Her Courtroom' with a Fiery New Role

ENA's Monday-Tuesday drama 'Honor: Her Courtroom' sees Lee Chung-ah stepping into a new role. She expressed her desire to play a passionate character, saying, "I wanted to try a role that wasn't cold and intellectual for a change." This choice hints at an exciting transformation in her acting style. The drama also marks the return of Na-young Lee to television after three years, drawing significant attention even before its release.

In 'Honor: Her Courtroom' (hereafter 'Honor'), Lee Chung-ah plays 'Hwang Hyun-jin,' a passionate lawyer at L&J (Listen & Join), a law firm specializing in defending female crime victims. Lee describes her character as slightly deviating from the typical lawyer image, emphasizing that Hyun-jin prioritizes people over her professional role. "She never hides or backs down, even if it means getting hurt," Lee explains, likening her character to a "highly combative retriever"—lovable and sociable, yet fiercely protective.

Hyun-jin's 'combativeness' makes her an active, hands-on lawyer at L&J, skilled in various martial arts. To embody her straightforward, sincere, and practical character, Lee added a personal touch by braiding her hair, saying, "I dislike being confined by the word 'original.' I live with the mindset of 'Why not? If you want to, you can do it!'" She hopes viewers will see Hyun-jin as a rare but admirable type of person.

Beyond the impressive character of Hyun-jin, Lee Chung-ah found the character dynamics in 'Honor' particularly appealing. Her law school peers and L&J co-founders, Yoon Ra-young (Na-young Lee) and Kang Shin-jae (Eun-chae Jung), possess contrasting personalities and skills.
