MBC's 'I Live Alone' Tops Ratings Despite Cast Changes

Despite the departure of key cast member Park Na-rae, MBC's 'I Live Alone' has maintained its strong viewership, securing the top spot in the 2054 age demographic for variety shows in the third week of January 2026.

The episode aired on January 16 featured Koo Sung-hwan's attempt to obtain a motorcycle license and the second installment of the 'Rainbow Grand Bazaar.' The show achieved a household rating of 5.1% in the metropolitan area, ranking first among Friday variety programs. It also led the 2054 demographic with a 3.2% rating, further solidifying its competitive edge.

Koo Sung-hwan pursued his dream by attempting the Class 2 motorcycle license test. Channeling his inner Jung Woo-sung from the movie 'Beat,' he was determined to pass. However, he faced a swift elimination after losing points for touching the ground with his feet. On his fourth attempt, he finally succeeded, earning admiration from viewers.

The 'Rainbow Grand Bazaar,' a major project to kick off the new year, concluded with all proceeds donated to charity. Under the enthusiastic salesmanship of Jeon Hyun-moo, Kian84, Code Kunst, and Joy, 21 'grand guests' participated, raising 24,015,000 won. Combined with voluntary donations from the Rainbow members, a total of 52 million won was donated.

Notably, Dex returned after the bazaar to contribute an additional 5 million won, adding to the heartwarming atmosphere. Sean emphasized the event's significance with the message, "Sharing is life."

The upcoming episode on January 23 will feature the 2026 Year of the Horse special 'Rainbow Let's Run,' showcasing the daily life of actor Bae Na-ra and a Seoul tour with Kim Dae-ho and his cousins.
