Why Korean Entertainer Jung Sun-hee Considers Choi Hwa-jung Her Lifelong Benefactor
On October 8, a video titled "Why Jung Sun-hee Considers Choi Hwa-jung Her Lifelong Benefactor (First Confession, Past Revelations)" was uploaded to Choi Hwa-jung's channel 'Hello, This is Choi Hwa-jung'.
In the video, Choi Hwa-jung expressed her gratitude for their long-standing friendship, saying, "We've known each other for about 30 years. Friends like these are so precious. Just by looking into each other's eyes, we understand each other. If everything falls apart and there's nowhere to go, you can always come here."
Jung Sun-hee recalled, "When I was at my lowest, I stayed at her house for about two weeks. The best part was that her house had great lighting, which was healing for me when I was feeling so dark inside. Just lying on the sofa was therapeutic."
Jung Sun-hee noted Choi Hwa-jung's unique way of offering comfort. "She never asked about the core of my problems. Instead, she would ask, 'What did you eat today?' or 'What did you watch?' When people were cornering me, she would say, 'Do you want some blood sausage with lots of liver?' That's when I learned what real comfort was. It was about talking about everyday life. It made me feel like I could live a normal life again."
Choi Hwa-jung empathized deeply with her friend's struggles, saying, "Even though her house was right there, she couldn't go in. She was really having a hard time."
Jung Sun-hee debuted as a comedian in 1992 through SBS's first open recruitment. She married actor Ahn Jae-hwan in 2007 but tragically lost him just a year later.
