Kim Go-eun Shines in 'The Price of Confession' with a Bold New Look and Stellar Performance
Recently, Kim Go-eun was spotted at a café in Samcheong-dong, Seoul, where she discussed her role as Mo-eun in Netflix's 'The Price of Confession.' Contrary to her short-haired character in the series, Kim sported longer hair, exuding a youthful charm with glasses and a scarf.
'The Price of Confession' is a mystery thriller that revolves around Jeon Do-yeon (as Yoon-soo), a woman accused of murdering her husband, and Kim Go-eun (as Mo-eun), a mysterious figure known as a witch. Kim's character, Mo-eun, is emotionally closed off. Reflecting on her recent successes, including the film 'Exhuma' and the acclaimed 'You and Everything Else,' Kim expressed, "Last year and this year feel miraculous. It takes a lot of elements to align for both critical acclaim and box office success. Meeting the right projects consecutively feels like a miracle, and it's been wonderful for my acting career."
She added, "Mo-eun is a character whose thoughts are hard to decipher. Even if everything is shown, I wanted her thoughts to remain a mystery. I aimed to act with my eyes and use subtle expressions."
She admitted to losing some weight, saying, "I didn't go on an extreme diet, but I wanted my jawline to appear slimmer on screen."
Most of Kim's scenes were set in a prison, which gave her a new perspective on the challenging role of prison guards. "I felt sorry for the character of Officer Um. Even I thought, 'Why is Mo-eun acting like this?'" she joked. "Kim Guk-hee's role wasn't initially prominent, but I was surprised by how significant it felt in the final cut. It made me realize the power of an actor."
'The Price of Confession' was released on the 5th and quickly garnered 2.2 million views in just three days, ranking second globally in the non-English series category. Reflecting on her streak of successful projects, Kim Go-eun stated, "I've said it many times, but last year and this year have been miraculous. It's not easy for projects to succeed consecutively. However, I can proudly say that I've worked hard since my debut. Even if I'm lacking, I give my best. My mindset remains the same."
