Kim Yoo-jung Addresses Dating Rumors with Kim Do-hoon Amidst 'Dear X' Success

Actress Kim Yoo-jung has clarified the dating rumors involving her and Kim Do-hoon.

Recently, in a café in Samcheong-dong, Seoul, Kim Yoo-jung sat down for an interview about her role in the TVING original series 'Dear X'.

'Dear X' is a suspenseful melodrama about Baek Ah-jin (played by Kim Yoo-jung), a woman who wears a mask to escape hell and rise to the top, and the story of the Xs she cruelly tramples on. It portrays the downfall of South Korea's top actress Baek Ah-jin, who hides her cruel nature behind a beautiful face, and the love of Yoon Jun-seo (played by Kim Young-dae), who chooses hell to protect her.

During the interview, Kim Yoo-jung spoke about her co-stars Kim Young-dae and Kim Do-hoon. She mentioned that they built a natural camaraderie through continuous readings and meetings before filming. "We became really close, like family, during the shoot. There wasn't a single uncomfortable moment while acting. I remember enjoying the process as we all became our characters," she said.

She added, "Both of them are pure, bright, and cheerful actors. It was hard to pick just one because they both contributed so many ideas and respected each other. I'm grateful for that."

Kim Yoo-jung also expressed concerns about her character Baek Ah-jin, who isolates herself, potentially making it difficult to connect with others. "I worried about appearing too isolated when working together, so I made extra efforts to counteract that," she shared. "I asked for understanding in that process and am very thankful."

Kim Yoo-jung and Kim Do-hoon were caught up in dating rumors last September. Reports emerged of them being spotted at a Vietnamese airport in May, and both shared photos from a trip to Nha Trang on social media.

Addressing the dating rumor incident, she explained, "Among ourselves, we joked that we hoped this would help the project succeed." She added, "I'm pleased that people are enjoying not just the relationship with Jun-seo but also with Jae-oh. It's gratifying to see so many people enjoying the series."

Regarding the photos from the Nha Trang trip, Kim Yoo-jung clarified, "There are many photos with the director, not just the two of us. We met so often for filming that we have many memories, making it hard to let go."
