The new SBS drama 'Would You Marry Me?' kicked off with a fast-paced romance, featuring a bold proposal from Jung So-min's character in its first episode.

Aired on the 10th, the premiere episode introduced viewers to the fateful encounter between Kim Woo-joo (played by Choi Woo-shik) and Yoo Mary (played by Jung So-min). The episode quickly escalated to a surprising proposal from Mary, asking Woo-joo to be her husband during their second meeting.

The first episode achieved impressive ratings, peaking at 7.0% nationwide, with a 6.1% viewership in the metropolitan area and an average of 5.6% nationwide. It surpassed 'My Youth,' starring Song Joong-ki, to claim the top spot in its time slot. The 2049 demographic rating soared to a high of 2.15%.

In the first episode, Mary faced both a life crisis and unexpected fortune. While preparing for her wedding, she discovered her fiancé Kim Woo-joo's (played by Seo Bum-june) infidelity. Despite having already registered their marriage due to a loan for their new home, Mary decided to divorce, saying, "I feel like we'll end up divorcing someday, so let's just do it now," and threw a drink in Woo-joo's face.

A month later, after finalizing the divorce, Mary found herself in a life crisis, caught in a scam involving a $3 million newlywed home. Her ex, Woo-joo, coldly refused to help, saying, "We're nothing to each other now," sparking anger.

Amidst this turmoil, Mary and Woo-joo's fateful first meeting occurred. While searching for directions, Woo-joo accidentally collided with a drunken Mary. To resolve the incident, Woo-joo saved his contact in Mary's phone. Mistaking him for her ex due to his name, Mary engaged in a scuffle, venting her frustrations. After a series of mishaps, Mary injured herself by sitting on a cactus, prompting Woo-joo to take her to the hospital and then home, revealing his subtle charm.

Amidst her life crises, Mary unexpectedly won a 'newlywed home prize.' A $50 million luxury townhouse, prepared as a promotional prize by Botte Department Store, was mistakenly awarded to Mary due to a failed manipulation by the store's CEO, Lee Sung-woo (played by Park Yeon-woo). Botte's executive, Baek Sang-hyun (played by Bae Na-ra), instructed a thorough review of the contract's fine print to cancel the prize. Receiving a call about the prize for newlyweds, Mary realized she hadn't yet submitted her divorce confirmation and submitted her documents to the department store.

Sang-hyun insisted that the prize ceremony required the couple's attendance, threatening to cancel the prize. With the luxury townhouse at stake, Mary attempted to contact her ex, Woo-joo, but couldn't reach him. Just then, she received a call from Woo-joo, and the name 'Kim Woo-joo' reignited her hope.

Meeting Woo-joo, Mary nervously asked, "Are you married?" catching him off guard. She continued, "I know it's rash to say this after just one meeting, but you're my only option," and with earnest eyes, she proposed, "Will you be my husband?" The episode ended with Woo-joo's bewildered expression, leaving viewers curious about how this unexpected proposal will change their relationship.
