Disney+ Series 'The Murky Stream' Marks Park Seo-ham's Return with Action-Packed Role

On the 23rd, a press conference for the Disney+ original series 'The Murky Stream' was held at the Eliena Hotel in Nonhyeon-dong, Seoul. Director Choo Chang-min and actors Rowoon, Shin Ye-eun, Park Seo-ham, Park Ji-hwan, Choi Gwi-hwa, and Kim Dong-won were in attendance.
'The Murky Stream' is a historical drama set in the Joseon era, revolving around the bustling trade hub of Gyeonggang. It tells the story of individuals with different dreams striving to live with dignity in a corrupt world. This is Disney+'s first historical series.
Park Seo-ham plays Jeong Cheon, a newly appointed officer in the Left Police Bureau who rose through the ranks based on his merit in a corrupt Joseon society. On his first historical drama and action role, Park stated, "I trained in sword fighting and horseback riding. I focused on clean swordsmanship techniques."
For Park Seo-ham, 'The Murky Stream' is his comeback project after military service. He shared, "It felt like gaining many father figures. The director and senior actors were like that. At the Busan International Film Festival, seeing them made me emotional. Going to the set felt like visiting family during the holidays. It was a grateful experience. I want to work harder and visit the director during the holidays."
Meanwhile, Rowoon is set to enlist in the military after this project. Park Seo-ham encouraged him, saying, "I believe you'll grow even during your service. You won't waste that time and will return as an impressive man." Rowoon added, "My enlistment was postponed from July, which I see as a blessing. I attended the Busan International Film Festival, and if I had missed it, I would have regretted it. Promoting a project I love is my responsibility. I'm glad I can do that before enlisting. I'll return healthy and continue acting without a break."
The three main actors praised each other, showcasing their strong bond. Shin Ye-eun, who worked with the "two handsome men," said, "Rowoon has much more experience despite being my age. He seems lively on the outside but is solid and grounded inside. I believe he'll become an even bigger actor." She continued, "Seo-ham is like a 'tear button.' I realized how much he loves acting and respects the profession. I don't know what projects we'll meet in next, but I'll support him unconditionally. He's like a senior despite being my peer, and there's much to learn from him."
Rowoon complimented Shin Ye-eun, saying, "In the hot filming conditions, I was almost bare, but Ye-eun had to wear layers. Yet, her presence brightened the set. She's like a beacon of energy." Park Seo-ham added, "Rowoon always gave me more than 100%. He tried to share everything he knew with me. His passion for acting was evident as he ran around even when tired and gave feedback while monitoring scenes. Ye-eun suggested script readings even when not filming, helping me relax and get comfortable with the space."
'The Murky Stream' is available on Disney+, with the first three episodes released on the 26th. Two episodes will be released every Friday until October 17th, totaling nine episodes.
