Jinyoung Joins 'Ms. Incognito': A New Role as a Single Dad

Jinyoung has revealed why he joined the cast of 'Ms. Incognito'.

The Genie TV original series 'Ms. Incognito' (directed by Park Yoo-young, written by Hyun Kyu-ri, planned by KT Studio Genie, produced by Cross Pictures and Tree Studio) is a crime romance drama. It follows a poor female bodyguard who enters a contract marriage with a terminally ill billionaire chairman, aiming for a life reset with only three months left. She must survive by changing her identity for three months to avoid those after the vast inheritance.

Jinyoung takes on the role of Jeon Dong-min, a single dad raising his son alone while farming strawberries in Moochang Village. This marks his first attempt at playing a father, and his transformation is highly anticipated. Jinyoung expressed his strong attachment to 'Ms. Incognito'.

"I wanted to do it as soon as I read the script," Jinyoung recalled his first impression of 'Ms. Incognito'. "I was overseas due to my schedule, but a meeting with the director was suddenly arranged. I felt I had to meet him as soon as I returned to Korea, which made me even more eager. I didn't want to miss it as I loved the writer's films so much that I watched them repeatedly," he shared.

He also expressed deep affection for his character, saying, "When I first saw Dong-min, I liked him without needing to say anything. He has a guarded nature but is actually very warm-hearted and has a surprising personality." He added, "Dong-min's pure side, as a father who lovingly cares for his 7-year-old son and strawberries, is truly charming," sparking curiosity about the character.

The role of Jeon Dong-min, which captivated Jinyoung, is a character with deep-seated distrust due to past wounds. However, he begins to change after meeting Boo Se-mi, a new teacher at his son's kindergarten. To portray Dong-min's emotional changes, Jinyoung focused on "showing the courage Dong-min possesses."

He continued, "Dong-min's emotional change is a process of breaking down the walls of his closed heart after meeting Boo Se-mi, despite his initial wariness of new things. Although I haven't experienced paternal love, I wanted to show the courage to protect his son and not lose what's precious," he explained about his preparation process.

Jinyoung described Jeon Dong-min, who bravely protects what is his, as a "strong man." Despite his pure appearance, he has the determination to quietly do his work and raise his son alone. This has raised expectations for the character of Jeon Dong-min, born from Jinyoung's affection and contemplation.

Finally, Jinyoung highlighted the "fantastic father-son chemistry" between Dong-min and his son as a key point to watch in 'Ms. Incognito'. "If you focus on how the harmless and pure father-son relationship, where they are like friends, unfolds, you'll enjoy it even more," he said, making viewers look forward to the heartwarming father-son dynamic.

The Genie TV original 'Ms. Incognito' will premiere on September 29th at 10 PM on channel ENA.
