Lee Junho Returns with 'Typhoon Family': A Tale of Resilience Amidst Crisis
Singer and actor Lee Junho is set to make a comeback after two years since 'King the Land' in 2023.

tvN's new weekend drama 'Typhoon Family' (directed by Lee Na-jung and Kim Dong-hwi, written by Jang Hyun, planned by Studio Dragon, produced by Imaginas, Studio PIC, and Tree Studio) portrays the growth journey of 'Kang Taepung,' a rookie businessman who becomes the president of a trading company with no employees, money, or products to sell during the 1997 IMF crisis. The drama aims to offer warmth and courage to those going through tough times today by showcasing the passionate survival stories of ordinary people who kept their positions and continued living even when the world seemed to end due to the crisis that hit South Korea.

In the midst of this, 'Typhoon Family' has unveiled the second poster featuring Kang Taepung (Lee Junho). While the 'Romantic 1997' poster depicted the pre-IMF era of youth Kang Taepung enjoying wealth and freedom inherited from the parent generation, the newly released 'Crisis 1997' poster showcases the post-IMF era where rookie president Kang Taepung advances with typhoon-like vigor amidst the massive storm of historical challenges.

The image shows Kang Taepung in the middle of the Typhoon Trading office. The chaotic office scene and newspapers reporting the IMF crisis vividly reflect the reality of that time. However, instead of wavering, Kang Taepung's face is filled with firm determination. Holding a newspaper with the dark headline 'Bailout' tightly rolled in his hand, he smiles, showcasing his strong will not to be broken by the daunting crisis. The caption, “I am Kang Taepung. It's the era that's collapsed, not me,” symbolically encapsulates the 'Taepung Spirit' of confronting despair with breakthrough.

The accompanying teaser video further amplifies this spirit. The numerous newspapers scattered on the floor and the news pouring out from the television vividly convey the air of a collapsed era. Yet, even in this period of economic chaos, Kang Taepung stands firm, crumpling the newspaper in his hand. His steadfast aura leaves a strong impression of a passionate survival story, even in the short video.

The production team stated, “The 'Crisis 1997' poster and teaser video encapsulate the spirit of youth that remained unbroken even in a collapsed era,” adding, “We hope that Kang Taepung's confident face will remind viewers of the courage of many ordinary people who lived through that time.”

tvN's new weekend drama 'Typhoon Family' will premiere on Saturday, October 11, at 9:20 PM, following 'Bon Appétit, Your Majesty.'
