Suspense Peaks as 'Mary Kills People' Faces Ratings Challenge with New Rivals
As 'Mary Kills People' struggles with ratings below 1% for seven consecutive episodes, new dramas starring Ko Hyun-jung and Song Joong-ki are set to premiere on the 5th, raising questions about whether the show's ratings will decline further in its 10th episode.

MBC's Friday-Saturday drama 'Mary Kills People' is a suspenseful series about a doctor who assists terminally ill patients with euthanasia and a detective who tracks them down.

In the previous episode, Woo So-jung (played by Lee Bo-young) narrowly escaped death in a car accident orchestrated by drug dealer Goo Kwang-chul (played by Baek Hyun-jin). She issued a stern warning to him, but was betrayed by Choi Dae-hyun (played by Kang Ki-young), who appeared at the assisted death scene with surveillance equipment, creating a tense trap.

The 10th episode, airing on the 5th at 10 PM, will feature a high-stakes 'forehead gun standoff' scene. In this scene, Woo So-jung is caught off guard when Goo Kwang-chul suddenly points a gun at her forehead. As they sit together conversing, Goo Kwang-chul abruptly changes demeanor, aiming the gun at Woo So-jung, who freezes in fear. The intense eye contact between a shocked Woo So-jung and a frenzied Goo Kwang-chul heightens the suspense. The reason behind Goo Kwang-chul's sudden aggression towards Woo So-jung, whom he previously favored, remains a mystery.

Lee Bo-young and Baek Hyun-jin reportedly delivered outstanding performances in the 'dangerous gun threat' scene, earning praise on set. Lee Bo-young's portrayal of Woo So-jung's emotional turmoil, as she attempts to suppress her fear and confusion, was particularly immersive.

The production team commented, "The scene where Baek Hyun-jin, who was friendly to Lee Bo-young, suddenly turns and points a gun at her, creates a powerful tension. We invite viewers to experience the ultimate suspense and masterful acting in the 10th episode."
