Actor Kim Nam-gil Opens Up About His Desire for Romance Roles Amidst Action-Packed Career
Actor Kim Nam-gil candidly shared his thoughts on his current career trajectory.

On the 29th, an interview was conducted with Kim Nam-gil, who plays the character Lee Do in Netflix's 'Trigger,' at a café located in Samcheong-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul. Contrary to his character's appearance, Kim Nam-gil arrived with long permed hair, warmly greeting the press and showcasing his charmingly talkative nature.

In this latest project, Kim Nam-gil once again showcases his action skills but expressed a strong desire to take on romantic roles. He humorously noted, "Romantic roles don't come my way. It's mostly action and occasionally historical dramas that are offered to me." He added, "If romantic roles were well-funded, I wouldn't be just sitting around."

Regarding his continuous involvement in action genres, he commented, "The genres are all quite deep, so they might seem similar. However, this project captures Lee Do's past and narrative well. I wanted to explore a character with depth and enjoy stories that delve into humanism."

'Trigger' is a gun disaster action thriller set in South Korea, where illegal firearms of unknown origin are delivered, leading to a series of gun-related incidents. The story follows two men who take up arms for their own reasons. Kim Nam-gil plays Lee Do, a police officer who picks up his gun once more to uphold justice.
