In March 1927, at the Shanghai Provisional Government building, Yeon Mi-dang, the only daughter from a family of independence activists, married Eom Hang-seop, a key operative of the Provisional Government. Their union was more than a personal commitment; it was a pledge of solidarity and the beginning of their dedication to the nation's independence. After their marriage, the couple actively participated in the independence movement, working on various tasks for the Provisional Government. They were directly and indirectly involved in Yun Bong-gil's heroic act at Hongkou Park. Yeon Mi-dang crafted the cloth to wrap the bomb, while Eom Hang-seop drafted the statement officially declaring the Provisional Government's involvement.

This event drew global attention and marked a turning point in the independence movement, but it also intensified Japanese surveillance and pursuit. The Provisional Government endured a long exile of about eight years, during which the couple steadfastly fulfilled their roles, protecting the government until the end. Actress Park Ha-sun expressed her gratitude for their dedication, stating, "It was possible because the couple earnestly wished for independence with one heart and mind."

The couple's life story is synonymous with the struggle of the Provisional Government. MBC's special project 'Memory·Record 2,' featuring the couple Yeon Mi-dang and Eom Hang-seop, will air on the 6th at 10:25 AM.
