Actor Kang Hoon Shines as 'Intermittent Genius' on 'Handsome Guys'

Actor Kang Hoon, known for his flirtatious moments with Ji Ye-eun on 'Running Man,' is recognized as an 'intermittent genius' by Kim Dong-hyun.

In the 29th episode of tvN's variety show 'Handsome Guys' (also known as 'Handsomez'), airing on the 26th, Kang Hoon and actress Park Joo-hyun join the 'Handsomez' members for a culinary adventure in the Namyeong-dong area of Yongsan-gu, Seoul, recommending lunch and dinner spots.

Kang Hoon captivates attention with his unique charm, oscillating between genius and naivety. While managing his weight for a drama, he indulges in a rare eating spree, showcasing his 'meerkat mode' at a Vietnamese pho restaurant. As soon as the first dish arrives, he eagerly asks, "Can I try it?" and, upon receiving permission, dives in.

Park Joo-hyun playfully scolds him, "The seniors haven't eaten yet," but Kang Hoon quickly retorts, "I haven't swallowed it yet. The sauce hasn't gone down," amusing everyone with his quick wit.

Kang Hoon showcases his cleverness by teasing Kim Dong-hyun, who is desperate to share the food. Despite Kim's pleas, Kang Hoon insists, "It's a taste I don't want to share with anyone," drawing laughter. When he loses a rock-paper-scissors game and must give up his food, he cleverly suggests, "Shouldn't I give you what I've already eaten? I'm not planning to eat," leaving Kim Dong-hyun flustered. Kim, charmed by Kang's quirky intelligence, remarks, "You're strangely smart sometimes. Intermittently smart," and humorously adopts Kang as his 'favorite keychain.'

Kang Hoon also reveals his surprising appetite, claiming, "I can eat unlimited samgyeopsal (pork belly)." He takes on a local samgyeopsal restaurant in Namyeong-dong, where he and fellow guests Lee Yi-kyung, Shin Seung-ho, and Park Joo-hyun devour 17 servings of meat, promising a spectacular eating show.
