Lee Beom-soo Returns to Drama with Unforgettable Villain Role in Netflix's 'Square'

In the Netflix series 'Square', which was fully released on the 6th, Lee Beom-soo takes on the role of Shim Sung-won, the head of a cleanup company called 'N-Clean'. His multifaceted performance adds a unique flair, leaving a powerful impression.
'Square' is a noir action series where Ki-joon, played by So Ji-sub, returns after 11 years to uncover the truth behind his brother Ki-seok's death. Shim Sung-won, who knows the secrets and hidden truths of the 'Square' world, becomes a pivotal character, providing crucial clues in Ki-joon's quest for revenge.

Director Choi Sung-eun described 'Shim Sung-won' as the only rogue yet the most human character among the cast, stating, "In a serious and dark world, he provides a breath of fresh air, a character only Lee Beom-soo could bring to life." The director also noted, "Lee Beom-soo actively suggested lines and actions for his character during filming, most of which were incorporated into the final cut."
Meanwhile, Lee Beom-soo, who married Lee Yoon-jin in May 2010, faced a separation in March last year. The couple is currently undergoing divorce proceedings. Lee Beom-soo and his son reside in Korea, while Lee Yoon-jin and their daughter live in Bali, Indonesia.
