Trot singer Choi Yoon-ha has opened up about her ongoing seven-year battle with a rare neurological disorder.

On the October 5th episode of MBN's 'Special World,' Choi Yoon-ha's daily life and her fight against the disease were featured.

During the broadcast, Choi revealed, "I am suffering from a rare neurological disorder called 'Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease.'" This genetic condition is known to cause muscle and nerve atrophy.

Choi expressed her fears, saying, "I was told that my legs would gradually stiffen, and I might lose strength in my hands, eventually finding it difficult to breathe. I was terrified of not being able to perform on stage, of not being able to sing." She shared that she is currently trying to slow the progression of the disease by walking barefoot in the park and stretching daily.

Choi first learned about her condition at the age of 24 while serving in the military band. She was advised to see a doctor after her walking posture was questioned. After being discharged, she began her full-fledged battle with the disease. Choi stated, "Currently, only symptom management is possible, and a complete cure is difficult," evoking sympathy from viewers.

Choi also shared that she recently moved from a semi-basement apartment to a new home, which she proudly showcased. "It's a house that rivals a luxury villa," she said, showing her refrigerator and expressing gratitude to her fans, "Thanks to them, I don't go hungry."
