Actress Lee Kyung-jin Opens Up About Her Battle with Breast Cancer and Weight Loss

Actress Lee Kyung-jin revealed that her weight dropped to 38kg during her battle with breast cancer.

On the 25th, the 'Real Actresses' channel featured a video discussing Lee Kyung-jin's daily life and her difficult past. Reflecting on her battle with cancer, she said, "I was almost just bones back then."

Lee Kyung-jin shared her experiences before her cancer diagnosis. "I had to handle the funerals of my sister and mother within a year and renovate my house, only to be diagnosed with cancer," she recalled. "I couldn't die because I felt it was unfair after fixing up the house," she added, reflecting on her solitary fight against cancer.

She also explained the reason behind her drastic weight loss. "Even when I ate, I couldn't absorb the nutrients, and I couldn't sleep, so I couldn't gain weight," she said.

Lee also shared her experience of being diagnosed with a full mastectomy. "I was initially diagnosed with a full mastectomy," she revealed, but after changing hospitals, she was told it wasn't necessary. "Go Doo-shim, who was an ambassador for Seoul National University Hospital, connected me to the hospital, and they said I didn't need the surgery. Hearing that, I was finally able to sleep," she added.

She expressed the shock she felt at the time, saying, "A mastectomy is like losing an arm." She continued, "A doctor once said, 'My sister had a full mastectomy and she's fine,' but I was so upset. I decided not to see that doctor again," she shared candidly.

An So-young, upon hearing this, comforted Lee Kyung-jin, saying, "You overcame it alone. It must have been so difficult."
