Shin Hyun-joon Reconciles with Sons in Heartwarming Finale of 'Study and Play'

The episode featured 3MCs Kang Ho-dong, Kim Ho-young, and Lee Soo-yeon, along with families including Kim Jung-tae and his son Kim Si-hyun (6th grade), Shin Hyun-joon with sons Shin Min-jun (3rd grade) & Shin Ye-jun (1st grade), Kim Byung-hyun with sons Kim Tae-yoon (5th grade) & Kim Joo-sung (2nd grade), Moon Hee-jun with daughter Moon Hee-yul (2nd grade), Lee Seung-yoon with son Lee Yeon-jun (5th grade), Kim Mi-ryeo with daughter Jung Mo-ah (5th grade) & son Jung I-on (1st grade), and Kim Kyung-ah with daughter Kwon Ji-yul (4th grade), as they tackled elementary school quizzes.
The first challenge was a 6th-grade English quiz, humorously incorporating a previous incident where Kim Byung-hyun's son Tae-yoon teased his father about having a musty smell. All parents answered incorrectly, but Kim Kyung-ah confidently stated, "It's okay to learn from this experience. I'm not embarrassed by being wrong." Shin Hyun-joon praised her, saying, "She's a decisive mom," only for his son Min-jun to correct him, "Dad, it's 'decisive,' not 'decisive.' Do you know how many mistakes you've made since last week?" This playful banter brought laughter to the set.
Despite Shin Hyun-joon's earlier struggles, his sons Min-jun and Ye-jun were hesitant to celebrate when he correctly answered a 5th-grade social studies question. However, when he nailed the 4th-grade math question on calculating the interior and exterior angles of a triangle, his sons joyfully embraced him in a celebratory hug.
In another segment, Kang Ho-dong asked Kim Byung-hyun's son Tae-yoon to describe his father as a shape. Tae-yoon affectionately replied, "My dad is like a circle with a pointy side. He may look a bit odd, but he's actually very gentle," leaving Kim Byung-hyun touched and proud.
The show's signature 'Relay Quiz of Horror' brought more laughter with a series of hilarious wrong answers. Kim Jung-tae humorously answered "Even a squid has its season" for a proverb-related question, while Kim Kyung-ah delivered a barrage of incorrect proverbs involving pigs.

A special quiz had children guessing the names of items used by their parents' generation, fostering a heartwarming intergenerational connection. In a 1st-grade integrated subject quiz on 'Our Country,' participants revisited the basics of being a South Korean citizen by recalling the third verse of the national anthem. During the 'After School Activities' segment, families united in a dance quiz featuring IVE's 'ATTITUDE,' with Shin Hyun-joon humorously mistaking IVE for a musical actor, confusing IVE with Ivy, causing everyone to burst into laughter. The day's winner was Lee Seung-yoon, who showcased his exceptional skills by scoring five points.
'Study and Play' concluded its 10-episode run on the 2nd, capturing the joy and empathy of parents engaging in elementary school lessons from their children's perspective, focusing on family bonds rather than scores.
